Steinmetz Earns WHAC Player of the Week Honors for Third Time

Lourdes University's Zach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint John's H.S.) has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season after leading the Gray Wolves to two victories last week.

 

Steinmetz finished the regular season with a pair of double-doubles, averaging 12.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in victories over Siena Heights and Aquinas.  He shot 50% from the floor and 81.8% from the line in the two games.  He started the week with 12 points and 13 rebounds against Siena Heights before adding 13 points and 10 boards in the victory over Aquinas.

 

For the season Steinmetz has 16 double-doubles and is averaging 13.5 points and 10.9 rebounds per game while shooting 52.7% from the floor.

 

Steinmetz also earned the honor on Jan. 6 and Feb. 3.

 

Lourdes (16-14, 11-11 WHAC) will travel to Lima, Ohio on Wednesday evening to face Northwestern Ohio in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference quarterfinals.
