Men's Basketball Team Back in National Rankings

Posted: Updated:

The University of Findlay men's basketball team has re-entered the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) NCAA Division II poll as the organization released their weekly rankings on Feb. 25.

The Oilers, who sport a 21-4 record on the season, are ranked 23rd in the nation.  They have won eight straight games and are 14-1 in their last 15 contests.

Findlay began the year ranked 11th in the nation and remained in the poll throughout the 2013 portion of their schedule.  The last NABC poll in which the Oilers were ranked came on Dec. 31, when they were ranked 12th.

The Oilers will close their regular season on Thursday at Hillsdale (8pm). They have already claimed at least a share of the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division championship and are assured of hosting a first round game in the 2014 GLIAC Tournament.

The Oilers are one of two teams ranked from the GLIAC as Lake Superior State checks in at #16 with a 26-3 record.  There is also a total of seven teams in the national poll from the Midwest Region (Drury, Indianapolis, Lake Superior State, Lewis, Findlay, Wisconsin-Parkside, Southern Indiana).
