BGSU Freshman swimmer Victoria Griffin was named Mid-American Conference First Team All-Conference, while sophomore Daniela Carrillo, senior Emily Waller, senior Joelle Scheps and sophomore Jordan Bullock were named to the second team.
Griffin was a four-time MAC Swimmer of the Week, breaking the school record in the 100 freestyle and tying the record in the 50 freestyle in her first year of collegiate swimming. She also swam legs of record-breaking relay teams at the MAC Championships in the 400 and 800 freestyle relays and the 400 medley relay. She finished in the top six in the conference in seven events at the MAC Championships, including second-place finishes in the 100 freestyle and both the 400 and 800 freestyle relays. She was third in the 200 freestyle, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay. Griffin also finished sixth in the 50 freestyle.
Carrillo scored in four events at the MAC Championships. She swam on the 400 medley relay team that broke a school record and placed third. She was MAC runner-up in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and swam on the sixth-place 200 medley relay squad. Carrillo earned second team All-MAC honors for the second consecutive season.
Waller earned second-team all-conference honors for the second consecutive season after scoring in three events in the MAC Championships. Along with swimming on the record-breaking 800 freestyle relay team that placed second, she finished sixth in the 500 freestyle and eighth in the 1650 freestyle.
Scheps swam on three school-record breaking relay teams at the MAC Championships and scored in six events overall. Both the 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams placed second on broke school records. The 400 medley relay team did the same and finished third. She was also part of the 200 medley relay team that was sixth and placed fourth individually in the 200 freestyle and seventh in the 200 individual medley. Scheps earned second-team All-MAC honors for the second straight year.
Bullock scored in two individual events at the MAC Championships, placing fifth in the 200 butterfly and eighth in the 400 individual medley. It is the second straight year that she ended fifth in the 200 butterfly at the MAC Championships.
