Fill your closets and help local charities

Posted: Updated:

There's a great way to help charity and fill your closets with some fabulous bargains! It's called Cheap and Chic and it's set for this weekend. The annual event has raised more than $20,000 for charity through the years. It features clothes, jewelry and home goods from 10 local stores, all at discounted prices. The sale helps the stores clear out fall and winter goods to make way for new spring merchandise.

Meredith Sherman owns The Sophia Lustig shop in downtown Toledo,"The event really helps three separate groups. Of course, it benefits the customer because everyone loves a good bargain! It also helps our community through the charitable organizations we've raised money for through the years. Finally it's good for the stores so we can make way for our beautiful new merchandise."

Cheap and Chic is this Saturday from 10am-3pm at The Premier, which is on Heatherdowns across from the Stranahan Theater. It costs $7 at the door. All that money goes to Chicks for Charity and the organization it is helping raise money for this year, The Shared Lives Studio. They hope to raise about $5,000 this year.
