Red Wings Recall Petr Mrazek

The Detroit Red Wings recalled goaltender Petr Mrazek from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

A native of Ostrava, Czech Republic, Mrazek has made 24 appearances for the Griffins this season, ranking among AHL leaders with 18 wins (10th), a 2.01 goals against average (1st), a 0.928 save percentage (T1st) and three shutouts (T8th). The 22-year-old netminder has played in seven games with Detroit this season, posting a 1-3-0 record, a 1.64 goals against average and a 0.924 save percentage. Mrazek recorded his second NHL win and first shutout with 14 saves in his season debut against the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 2.

Originally drafted by Detroit in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, he helped the Griffins to a Calder Cup championship as a first year pro, going 23-16-2 with a 2.33 goals against average and a 0.916 save percentage in 42 regular-season games. He played every minute of the team's 24 postseason contests, sporting a 15-9 record, a 2.31 goals against average and a 0.916 save percentage.
