Another round of heavy snow Wednesday

Posted: Updated:

The National Weather Service offices have jointly issued a Winter Storm Warning for Wednesday.  It doesn't become effective until Wednesday but rain will start before that.  The Warning covers the entire viewing area but the start times differ, based upon where you live.

There's a good chance that many will pick up more than 6" of fresh snow.  If that happened in Toledo, we'd be at almost exactly seven feet of snow for this winter!

We've upped our snow forecast for many as the storm nears.  It isn't a major change but the 6-10" line has moved north a few miles.  That now includes Toledo and about 80% of the area.  For our southern counties, you'll see plenty of moisture but slightly less snow.  The general forecast for those in the south is 4-8".  It's a similar story for the far northern counties.

High winds will also chop temperatures tomorrow.  Winds will howl at times, between 30-40 mph.  There's also a Gale WARNING for our entire coastline, so if you know ice fishermen, let them know about near-whiteout conditions and shifting ice.
