Lourdes University posted a first round total of 352 on Saturday afternoon at the Laura Bump Invitational and sits in a tie for 10th place in the 18-team field at Mill Creek Golf Club in Ostrander, Ohio.
The Gray Wolves are tied with the College of Wooster in the standing, five shots ahead of Ohio Northern. The Gray Wolves are just six strokes out of sixth place, and trail ninth place Otterbein by just two heading into Sunday's final round. Wittenberg leads the tournament after shooting an opening round 308, 11 shots ahead of Madonna.
Heather Steiner (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with an opening round 83, and is tied for 16th place overall in the field of 109 golfers. Roberta Craider (Brecksville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan H.S.) added a round of 87 on the 5,834-yard, par-71 course, while Lindsay Lehman (Sylvania, Ohio/Otsego H.S.) carded a round of 90. Kallie Breyfogle (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview H.S.) rounded out the scoring for the Gray Wolves, firing a 92, while Haley Steiner (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert H.S.) posted an opening 18-hole score of 94.
Denison's Brynn FitzGerald and Maggie Smith hold the individual lead heading into the final round after each shot rounds of 75.
