Additional recycling in Bedford Twp.

RecycleNOW Drop-Off Location Added

Monroe, MI, May 1, 2014 – Beginning in May, additional recycling opportunities will be available in Bedford Township.

Effective May 2014, the RecycleNOW drop-off recycling bins will be available at the Bedford Township Hall, 8100 Jackman Road, Temperance, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month between the hours of 7AM-6PM. 

The new full monthly schedule is as follows:

First Tuesday of the month: Dundee Kroger, 571 E. Monroe St., Dundee, 7AM-6PM

First and Third Tuesday of the month: Bridgepoint Church, 9875 Lewis Ave., Temperance, 7AM-6PM

Second Tuesday of the month: St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2238 Manhattan St., Erie, 7AM-6PM

Second and Fourth Tuesday of the month: Bedford Township Hall, 8100 Jackman Road, Temperance, 7AM-6PM

Every Saturday & Sunday: Monroe Charter Township Hall, 4925 W. Dunbar Rd., Monroe, 8AM-5PM

All of the drop-offs are sponsored by the Monroe County Recycling and Green Community Program.  Items accepted at these locations include: plastics (type 1-5 and 7), tin, aluminum and steel containers, newspaper, office paper, magazines, junk mail, soft cover books, paperboard, milk and juice cartons, clear and colored glass.  Lids and labels can also be included.  This program accepts rinsed containers that have held food, beverages, detergents or bleach.  Please do not leave unacceptable materials.  All bins are monitored.

In June, police charged Gaston with murder in the shooting death of Sheymarr Noble. Three others were wounded in that midday shooting.
