CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police in Macomb County's Chesterfield Township are searching for a man who slashed the driver of a public passenger van across the face with a box cutter.
The Detroit Free Press reports (http://on.freep.com/R8dQjL ) Friday that the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation driver suffered a wound to his cheek.
Police say the driver let off his final passenger of the day Thursday morning northwest of Detroit in Chesterfield Township when the man boarded the van and demanded to be driven a few miles south to Mount Clemens.
The man began slashing at the driver with the box cutter when told to leave the bus. The driver's face and sleeves of his jacket were cut before he was able to escape.
