40 people in custody in Fulton County cockfighting bust

FULTON COUNTY, Ohio - Police busted a cockfighting ring and took 40 people into custody in Fulton County Sunday morning.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, they responded to a call around 11 a.m. of shots being fired at 9784 County Road N. Wauseon, Delta, Fulton County Dog Warden also responded to the call.  

When officers arrived, people were fleeing from the scene and they found a cockfighting ring. Thirty roosters were taken to an undisclosed location.

A total of 40 people have been charged with aiding and abetting animal fighting, which is a fourth degree misdemeanor.

Police are still searching for three people involved in the incident.  Anyone with information is asked to call Fulton County Sheriff's Office.
