Davis Besse back online after upgrade.

Posted: Updated:
OAK HARBOR, Ohio (AP) - The Davis Besse nuclear power plant is operating again after undergoing a $600 million upgrade.

FirstEnergy Corp spent the last three months replacing the two original steam generators at the Oak Harbor nuclear plant near Toledo

The company says the nuclear plant should be back to full power within a few days.

The generators installed at Davis-Besse are 74 feet long and weigh 470 tons. They act as heat exchangers and produce super-hot steam used to spin the plant's turbine generator to produce electricity.
