The University of Findlay men and women's outdoor track and field teams completed a couple of different events on May 9 as they took part in the Toledo Invitational in Toledo, Ohio and the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill.

At Toledo, Justin Welch recorded a first place finish in the hammer throw with a NCAA automatic qualifying distance of 72.93. The throw is the furthest heave in the nation this season across all divisions and was good enough to establish a new school record.

On the women's side, Kendra Averesch had a big day for the Oilers by claiming a first place finish in the shot put with a NCAA automatic qualifying toss of 15.36.  She also had provisional marks in both the discus and hammer throw. She placed fifth in the discus (43.76) and was sixth in the hammer (51.74).

Lydia Guagenti added a first place finish in the high jump at 1.65.

At the Dr. Keeler Invitational, Dillon Webster won the 800-meter run with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:50.12 in a field of 95 competitors.
