A new meteor shower is expected to shine this weekend

Posted: Updated:
Toledo, OH - A brand new meteor shower is expected to peak Friday night/Saturday morning between 2-4am. Nobody knows how big the display will be right now. Most astronomers agree 30-200 meteors per hour is a good guess. However, some experts believe this meteor shower could become a rare meteor storm with 1,000 meteors per hour or more. That comes down to a meteor every 3 to 4 seconds. The weekend's meteor shower is a mystery right now since this event has never happened before and astronomers don't know what to expect. At this point the forecast is for a mostly clear sky Friday night into Saturday morning. If you head out make sure to look in the northern part of the sky.
