OSU officials approve freezing tuition for second straight year

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The board of trustees for Ohio State University has decided to freeze tuition for the second straight year.

The university said Friday that trustees also supported a freeze on mandatory fees.

The approved resolution holds tuition for the 2014-15 school year. That means undergraduate students will pay about $10,037 a year - the same amount charged to those students this past school year.

Tuition for out-of-state students will rise by 5 percent. So undergraduate students from outside Ohio would pay about $26,537 in tuition.

Housing costs may increase. The room-and-board fee will rise by up to 4.3 percent, meaning students will pay $9,800 to $11,500 for a housing plan.

Tuition for in-state students on regional campuses remains at $7,140 for undergraduates and $11,496 for graduate students.
