Some area pediatricians are making tough choices about which patients they can treat. Franklin Park Pediatrics sent out a letter to it's patients saying if parents chose not to vaccinate their kids, they'd have to leave the practice. Pediatrician Ken McBride says "What if a child comes into the office with measles or mumps?", "There's no reasonable way we can guarantee the office would be safe for a one week old baby that didn't have it's vaccines yet, or a pregnant mother, or a child with cancer." "The return of previously eradicated viruses like mumps and measles is really the tipping point for some offices, says McBride, "Parent have a number of reasons they choose not to vaccinate their kids, such as philosophical or religious, but they will have to find another office to get their kids treatment."
