One dead after motorcycle crash

Posted: Updated:
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three vehicle fatal crash that occurred on State Route 53 just north of State Route 2.  The crash happened around 10:45 Saturday night.

A Dodge Dakota pickup operated by Susie Gonzalez and passenger Miguel Popoca, both of Port Clinton, turned left in front of two motorcycles.

The motorcycle driven by Thomas Lamb, 53, and passenger Angela Lamb, 49, both of Boardman, OH, struck the right side of the pickup ejecting both Thomas and Angela.

The other motorcycle driven by John Rice, 43, and passenger Amy Rice, 42, both of Toronto, OH, struck the motorcycle driven by Lamb ejecting both John and Amy.

Gonzalez and Angela Lamb were flown to local hospitals with serious injuries.  John and Amy Rice along with Popoca were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.  Thomas Lamb was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in the crash.  The two people in the pickup were not wearing seatbelts.  All motorcyclists were wearing safety helmets.

No charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.
