Wyatt Spalding has signed a letter of intent to become the third member of the 2014-15 Owens Community College men's golf freshmen class.

Spalding, a 2013 graduate of Summerfield High School in Petersburg, Mich., became the first regional champion in the history of the school as a senior under the direction of head coach Bob Howard.

After advancing past the regional tournament, Spalding shot a 75-73-148 to finish ninth at the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division 4 state tournament.

In addition to those honors, Spalding was a four-time First Team All-Tri County Conference (TCC) selection, the 2013 County Player of the Year and he earned his team's MVP honor all four years.

In addition to Spalding, next year's freshmen class includes Dominic DiGiacomo of Ocean City High School in New Jersey and Christian Bienaime of Lake Brantley High School in Florida. Those three will join returning sophomores Philippe Weppernig (Kantonsschule Alpenquai Luzern/Luzern, Switzerland), Harrison Long (Wilnecote/Tamworth, U.K.) and Dru Hein (Jasper/Jasper, Ind.).
