OHSAA to Honor Officials Hall of Fame Inductees and Officials of the Year

Posted: Updated:
The Ohio High School Athletic Association will hold its annual Officials Hall of Fame Induction banquet Saturday night in Columbus, where 15 individuals will be inducted into the OHSAA Officials Hall of Fame and the OHSAA’s 2013-14 Officials of the Year will be honored.

Annually since 1989, the OHSAA Officials Hall of Fame Committee has selected individuals for induction into the OHSAA Officials Hall of Fame. While the OHSAA’s Circle of Champions recognizes individuals from various areas who had outstanding careers in high school athletics and have further contributed to interscholastic sports, the Officials Hall of Fame is the only Hall of Fame sponsored by the OHSAA.

The complete list of inductees into the Officials Hall of Fame is posted at: http://www.ohsaa.org/officials/hof/Hallfame.htm

“We thank all officials for their service to student-athletes, coaches, schools and other officials,” Beau Rugg, OHSAA Assistant Commissioner and one of the 2014 Hall of Fame inductees, said. “It is an honor to have an Officials Hall of Fame where the best are recognized for their dedication to officiating and outstanding careers. It is also an honor to recognize the officials of the year. Officiating is a service and it is a joy to thank these highly respected individuals.”
