$35M in unclaimed funds waiting for Lucas Co. residents

Posted: Updated:
If you live in Lucas County, there may be money out there with your name on it, and you may have no idea!

The Lucas County treasurer released an updated list Tuesday of Lucas County residents who are owed unclaimed funds from the State of Ohio.

The treasurer says Ohio owes nearly $35 million from Ohio's Division of Unclaimed Funds to about one in every four residents.

The money comes from things like unclosed bank accounts or uncashed insurance policies.

To find out if you have unclaimed funds,  log on to the Ohio Department of Commerce's website or call the office at 419-213-4303.
