Perrysburg High School students finalists in Duck Tape contest

Two Perrysburg High School students are in the running for a $10,000 scholarship.  
Kathryn Dobbs, 20, and Nathanial Dobbs, 18, created their prom outfits using Duck Tape.
They're entries landed them among the top ten in the country.
Voting continues through July 8.
Winners will be announced on July 16.

·         The Duck brand Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest challenges high school students to create one-of-a-kind prom attire with Duck Tape for a chance to win scholarship dollars for college. Since 2001 (when the contest began), Duck brand has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarship money to students and schools and approximately 3,000 couples (6,000 students) have participated. This year, more than $50,000 is up for grabs.
 
·         2014 Prizes:
o   The Grand Prize winners will each receive a $10,000 scholarship; $5,000 will be awarded to the school that hosted the prom they attended.
o   The second place award is $5,000 for each of the students and $3,000 for the school that hosted the prom.
o   Both the students in third place will receive $3,000, with $2,000 going to the school that hosted the prom.
o   The remaining seven couples in the judge-selected Top 10 will each receive a $500 scholarship, as well as $500 for the school that hosted the prom.
 
·         Voting:
o   Online voting is now open on StuckAtProm.com and ends July 8, 2014.
o   The Grand Prize, Second and Third Place winners will be announced on July 16th.

    The death toll continues to climb in the Gaza Strip as Hamas and Israel continue to fight. The bloodshed may be happening overseas, but, for some, it's hitting close to home. Dozens of people stood at the corner of Secor and Central Monday, calling on Israel to end the violence.
