Nearly 2,000 support Toledo Zoo to Do

Posted: Updated:
Party animals from across the area came out Friday night to support the Toledo Zoo.

The annual "party with a purpose" raises nearly $200,000 each year for the zoo's programs and exhibits.

Rick and Debbie Yarder have come every year for the last six years.

"It's a passion for us, we love coming here," Debbie Yarder said.  "Our grandchildren come, our children come, it's a wonderful place."

On top of raising money for a good cause, Zoo to Do also brings dozens of area restaurants and caterers together to show off everything they have to offer.

They also donate their time and food, to show their support.

"I think it's one of the best t things Toledo offers," Scott Schraegar, managing partner at Texas Roadhouse told 13abc.  "We love supporting it."

Texas Roadhouse is a regular.

For the last 13 years, it's cooked up ribs and steaks for the more than 1,800 people who attend.

This years theme celebrated the zoo's newest exhibit, Penguin Beach.
