E. Toledo meeting focuses on fighting blight

Posted: Updated:
Residents on Toledo's east side will get the chance to talk face to face with Mayor Collins about the issues that hit home.   The meeting is scheduled to take place on June 25 at 6 p.m. at the East Toledo Family Center.  'One Voice for East Toledo' is sponsoring the community event.

The mayor has promised voters blight is a problem his administration will tackle.  But Collins says he can't do it alone.

"We know we can't get it done alone and obviously the city, they need our help too," says Jodi Gross, a community builder for the East Toledo Family Center. "We think coming to the table talking about what we would like to see will help both of us accomplish our goals."

Shuttle service will be available for residents wanting to attend, running from 5:30 until 6:00 p.m. at the Navarre Park Shelter House (senior center).  It will also resume following the community meeting.
