A teenage driver was killed in an early morning car crash in Ida Township on Saturday.

The Monroe county Sheriff says it happened just after 2 a.m. on Douglas Road, just south of Morocco Road in Ida Township. Tyler Weaver, 18, of Ida was driving southbound on Douglas Road. The vehicle traveled off the east side of the road, went into a ditch and rolled.

Mr. Weaver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Officials say speed appears to be a factor.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 734-240-7768.
