Senior pitcher Alex Williams of the Oilers baseball team has been selected to play in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star game on July 16 in Xenia, Ohio.
Williams, who was a first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) player for the Oilers in 2014, has posted a 2-1 record with three saves for the Grand Lake Mariners this summer. He has pitched in eight games and holds a 0.77 earned run average for the Celina-based team.
The Perrysburg, Ohio native appeared in a school record 21 games for the Oilers in the 2014. He ended the year with a 1.70 earned run average and recorded three saves. Williams also posted 49 strikeouts in 47.2 innings of work.
