Posted: Updated:
Toledo, OH -

The Lagrange Street Polish Festival begins Friday evening and runs through the weekend along Lagrange Street in Toledo. Polka music will be playing through the weekend and several food vendors will line the street. Festival organizers expect guests will consume 40,000 pierogies, 300 kegs of beer, and roughly 6,000 bottles of pepsi products and water. The proud polish community makes up about 1/10 of Toledo's population, and the communities strong roots helped the festival blossom in 1984. The festival is open Friday 5pm till 11pm, Saturday from noon to 11pm and on Sunday from noon to 7pm. Admission is $4 Friday and Saturday, and $2 on Sunday. Children 8 and younger get in free, and no one under the age of 18 is admitted without a parent or adult. Money collected this weekend will go back into the community through home and business repairs along with scholarships to area students.
