A quartet of current Ohio State golfers all placed inside the top-20 of the 2014 Ohio Amateur Championships (July 8-11). Rising senior Boo Timko led the Buckeye charge at the Coldstream Country Club, finishing in fourth place with a 2-under 282 (74-71-68-69). The Girard, Ohio native also performed as the top amateur of the Ohio Open earlier this summer, notching a t-8th showing in the tournament featuring professional and amateurs from across the state.
Rising sophomore Clark Engle came up with a top-10 performance in the Ohio Amateur as well, grabbing a share of sixth place by carding scores of 69-72-71-75—287 (+3). Logan Jones was the next Buckeye appearing on the leaderboard. The fifth-year senior followed up a t-17th effort at the Ohio Open with a share of 13th in the Ohio Amateur with tallies of 73-73-72-73—291 (+7). Redshirt freshman Josh Wick saved his best round for last, wrapping up his 293 with a 72 on Friday (73-73-75-72). His 9-over ledger was good for an 18th place tie.
