Authorities say Maumee official stole gas for personal use

A Maumee City employee faces felony charges.

According to court documents, Dave Theaker is accused of stealing about 35-dollars worth of gasoline. The arrest affidavit says he pumped 10 gallons of gas in two cans, signed for it, and charged it to the city's credit account.

Theaker is then accused of taking the gas home and putting it in his garage for personal use.

Theaker is a supervisor in the service division and he faces two charges of theft in office, both are felonies.

He's also a member of the Maumee School Board. He's scheduled to be in court August 4th.

    Police say a school bus driver for a private transportation company was killed when the bus rolled over her during an evacuation drill outside an Akron charter school.
