Toledo water plant repairs completed early

Posted: Updated:
The City of Toledo says repairs at the water plant have been completed ahead of schedule and the plant is once again running at full capacity.

Crews finished repairing a flocculator at the plant Wednesday night. A floculator is a component that mixes raw water from the lake with treatment chemicals to remove any sediment or algae.

The plant administrator says the basin has already been fixed and filled. The repairs were originally supposed to take up to four days but instead were completed in about 24 hours.

The city is still asking residents to conserve water until the algae season is over in September.
