COVID-19 infects entire Wood Co. family -- including an infant
A 2-year-old and 3-month-old infant both tested positive
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Wood County family is in isolation tonight after everyone in their household tested positive for COVID-19.
Angel and Mike Korotnayi are both front line workers. Mike started to feel sick last week and decided to get tested for the virus. His test was positive, and then his wife felt a little off. She decided it was best to get herself and both young boys tested as well. Angel says she was shocked when they called about the results and told her that she and both her children were infected. Levi is 2-years-old and her son Leo is just 3-months-old.
“I immediately thought, Please, God, don’t let anything happen to the kids and it get worse,” says Korotnayi.
The family is feeling OK. Mike describes his experience as “extremely unpleasant.” He dealt with extreme muscle aches and pains, a headache and fever for multiple days. Angel says the virus symptoms compare to a sinus infection, and her son Levi, 2, appears to be unaffected by the illness. As for baby Leo, Korotnayi says he is fussy and they are giving him Tylenol around the clock to keep the fever in check.
The family shared their story on Facebook, and it has been shared hundreds of times. Angel and Mike are hoping to spread the word to those who do not think the virus is real and encourage them to take it seriously.
“It’s a real thing and so much can happen respiratory wise and people need to take it seriously,” says Koronayi.
