Driver injured in SUV-train crash wants to meet good samaritan

SWANTON, Ohio (WTVG) - Authorities in Lucas County responded to a car-train crash on S. Berkey Southern Rd. near Soul Rd. on Thursday morning.

According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper on the scene, a male driving a Chevy Trailblazer SUV was heading north on the roadway and stopped at the closed gates. However, the driver then decided to go around the closed gates and into the path of the oncoming train.

The Conor Markowiak was taken to the hospital with a broken leg and other injuries.

The family says a good samaritan helped the 22-year old man. The family is hoping someone can help find the person so Conor can thank for him.
