TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Toledo man was arrested for allegedly accidentally shooting a teenager Tuesday night.

Devin Whaley, 20, of Toledo, is facing a Negligent Assault charge for the incident in the 600 block of Platt on June 25.

Officers arrived and found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, according to police records. TPD documents allege Whaley was unloading his gun when he accidentally shot the boy in his leg. The teenager was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay.

Whaley pleaded not guilty on June 26 and was released on his own recognizance.
