Jada Respress

Jada Respress is a multimedia journalist for 13abc Action News. She joined the team in September 2023 after graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University. She's a native of Columbus, OH and is excited to learn more about Northwest Ohio.

Her passion for journalism is rooted in a commitment to create content using various forms of media to build an enlightened audience. From her childhood on, she found a love for writing, telling stories, and connecting with others for their betterment.

She's a recent fellow for the Carnegie-Knight News21 program in Phoenix, Arizona, where she conducted investigative work around the aftermath of the Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v Wade, completing a 12-minute mini-documentary on Maternal Health disparities within communities of color. During her collegiate career, she's had the opportunity to expand her knowledge in social media, print and broadcast writing, journalism research, and audio production through her internships at YR Media, WOUB Public Media, Role Model Magazine, Evergreen Podcasts, and Ohio Wesleyan University's The Transcript. She is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
