Michael is proud to say, “This is home!” to Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

He joined the 13abc Action News team in July 2016 and currently serves as a general assignment reporter with previous experience as an assignment editor and digital producer.

Michael is no stranger to the greater Toledo area. He was born in Toledo and grew up just outside of Bowling Green in Wood County. He graduated from Eastwood High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism, cum laude, from Kent State University.

While at Kent State, Michael worked for the university’s award-winning, student-run television station TV2 KSU. It was there where he developed and honed his passion for storytelling and broadcast news. He also worked at the university’s award-winning National Public Radio affiliate, 89.7 WKSU-FM. At WKSU, he served as a multimedia producer and occasionally reported too. He was also a 13abc intern during the summer of 2013!

Michael considers himself very fortunate to have landed his first television job at such a well-respected and established station like 13abc. Being able to tell the stories of the people in his hometown is a dream come true!

In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling as well. He is also proud to serve in the Ohio Air National Guard at the 180th Fighter Wing in Swanton.

You can catch Michael weeknights on Action News at 11:00 and sometimes in other newscasts, too.

Feel free to send him your story ideas or just say, “Hi!” You can also connect with him via email, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
