The American Red Cross says it needs your help to assist others.

13abc is partnering with the Red Cross to produce a phone bank to accept donations to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

On Wednesday, 13abc will open a Red Cross phone bank to accept donations. The phone bank will take place from Noon until 7:00pm on Wednesday. Donations may also be sent through the organization's web site at The phone number to call will be announced on Wednesday.

The Red Cross of Northwest Ohio's Executive Director, Rachel Hepner, told 13abc Monday that at least 14 volunteers were leaving the Toledo region to help with disaster relief in Texas.

Red Cross volunteer Holly Blaine is helping in Texas at shelters for evacuated residents. She told 13abc Sunday night that at one shelter there are "no showers, no flush toilets, no air conditioning. You really can't believe it."

Experts say it's too early to know an estimate of damages because the flooding and heavy rains continue but they expect the number to be in the billions of dollars.

Heavy rains continue to slam parts of Texas and Louisiana could be the next to feel the devastating floods.
