Toledo shines bright for the holidays tonight

TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - It's the most wonderful time of the year.

The song made popular in 1963 by Andy Williams sums up how many feel about the holiday season. Holiday activities shift into high gear in Toledo Friday night.

13abc will anchor Action News with Lee Conklin and Diane Larson live from Promenade Park for the start of the 7th annual Hope for the Holidays toy drive. Santa, food trucks, Imagination Station will be on location with the 13abc news team. At 7pm, the Woodward High School choir and Masterworks Chorale provide a sing-along opportunity as they present carols at the park. The music will be presented live on 13abc.

13abc's Jay Berschback will anchor weather live from Hensville where St. Clair Street is lit up for the holidays. 13abc's Kristian Brown handles the turning on of this season's Lights Before Christmas at the Toledo Zoo. 13abc's Amy Montgomery reports from the home of Nite Lites at Michigan International Speedway.

The Salvation Army and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will be at Promenade Park to collect toys donated to the Hope for the Holidays campaign. The toy drive continues through mid-December.
