TOLEDO (WTVG) - As you may know, we have a new member of the team here at 13abc. Her name is Mabel. She is furry, has four legs, and will soon be helping children and young adults with autism.
Mabel belongs to 13abc's Melissa Voetsch. She makes frequent visits to our newsroom as the station mascot.
Mabel is almost three-months-old. Our cameras were rolling as she went to the vet for a check up. Along with all the regular health checks, she also had her nails trimmed and got a shot.
Dr. Sue Savage at Reynolds Road Animal Hospital says Mabel is in good health, and has a wonderful temperament.
Mabel's easy-going personality and intelligence will serve her well as she works to become a certified therapy dog and part of the Agility Angels program. The program uses agility dogs and their trainers to work with children with autism.
We'll continue to bring you Mabel's story as she works to become a certified therapy dog and Agility Angel. Mabel has her own Facebook page and Instagram account, Mabel 13abc.
