LEIPSIC, Ohio (WTVG) - Two people are dead after their trailer caught fire in Putnam County early Monday Morning. According to the Leipsic Fire Department, fire fighters were met with heavy smoke when they arrived at the blaze.
They searched the home as aggressively as possible before conditions became too dangerous and they had to resort to a defensive attack. Leipsic fire fighters were joined by crews from Miller City and Ottawa who eventually helped get the fire under control.
Once the fire was out, crews were able to search the home more thoroughly, which is when they discovered a male and a female had been inside at the time. The fire department is not releasing their names.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, though the Ohio State Fire Marshall's office says it does not appear suspicious.
