For the fifth year in a row the Toledo Museum of Art has shut down part of Monroe Street to throw a party to celebrate the arts. The event started Saturday at 6 p.m and lasted until 10 p.m.

Party-goers enjoyed entertainment, music, food, glass blowing, scavenger hunts, and fun activities for kids.

Whitmer High school Drumline, Aha! Indian Dance group and Birds Eye View Circus all performed.

Magician Dorian Strange, juggler Crazy Craig and pageant puppets from Toledo School for the Arts all provided entertainment as well.

A dance party kicked off at 9 p.m. and the event wrapped up at 10 p.m.

"This year we're going to be doing something special. We have a synchronized light show that's going to be projecting on the facade of the building. So we are trying to make some incremental changes to really respond to what our audiences have been telling us for the last couple of years," said Mike Deetsch, Director of Education and Engagement of TMA.

This party is all about showcasing the arts and celebrating local talent.

"We open both buildings up so people will be able to explore the galleries, participate in a scavenger hunts, children's activities so a little bit for everybody and again it's just an opportunity to celebrate the arts and all that's great about Toledo," said Deetsch.

The Toledo Museum of Art sits in the Old West End. Attracting a crowd to this old neighborhood helps keep it alive.

"We realized that we are basically situated in a beautiful park that's right on the edge of downtown and we need to really celebrate and celebrate all that's great about Toledo," said Deetsch.

"It says a lot for it to be five years and it didn't just start and then end. It's continuing and growing and people are coming you know from the north, south, east, and west to come and enjoy this event," said Constance Preston, who attended the party.
