Toledo mom carjacked while stopping for gas

TOLEDO (WTVG) - A Toledo mom had her car stolen while stopping for gas Monday afternoon, with two children in the back seat.

Jonnetta Tucker said she was walking inside the Stop-N-Go at the corner of Monroe and Upton to pay when she noticed someone inside her vehicle.

"I looked out the window and saw a man jump into the front seat," Tucker said.

Her 6-year-old son and 10-year-old niece were in the back seat.

"I thought he was going to kidnap the kids," said Tucker.

According to a Toledo Police report, the crook pushed the two children out the car door before taking off.

"I said do you know my mom? He said, ‘no’," said Tucker's son, Elijah Green. "Then he pushed us out the door."

"I am just thankful the kids were safe," said Tucker. "The car is replaceable, as long as the kids are safe is what I am worried about."

Police later found her vehicle on Oakwood near Forrest.

The suspect is facing robbery charges and described as wearing a grey hoodie with blonde hair.
