FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) - A strong storm on Sunday caused damage to homes and businesses in Findlay.

Debris could be seen scattered mainly off Trenton Ave.

Lydia Mihalik who is the Mayor of Findlay said, "we're really concerned for a mobile home park called Highland Estates. There was a major gas leak in that area."

Because of that gas leak and damage to multiple mobile homes, The American Red Cross of North Central Ohio opened a shelter at 50 North in Findlay Sunday night.

Multiple businesses on Trenton Ave. sustained damage. The Ralphie's sign was completely blown off. An Advanced Auto Parts store will have to replace its windows.

Sunday night it was difficult for crews to do a total assessment. They will look at more damage Monday morning.

In the meantime, The American Red Cross will continue to assist those in need through out the week.

Todd James said, "we'll make sure they have a safe place to stay, a warm meal and if they need help any basic first aid needs."
