Accident sparks barn fire in Sandusky County

Sandusky County, OHIO (WTVG) - New from overnight, an accident near Fremont sparked a barn fire.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a woman went off the side of the road on State Route 412 just west of County Road 268 and hit a barn.

The vehicle caught fire and then set the barn on fire as well.

State Troopers say the driver, Marisa Tschanen, of Tiffiin, was rescued by two eyewitnesses.

The barn had 10-15 cows inside at the time of the fire. It is unclear if they survived.

The woman who crashed and caused the fire was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.
