Detroit, MICHIGAN - Construction surrounding Detroit Metro Airport could cause some travel headaches for travelers.
According to the Wayne County Airport Authority, the construction was suppose to be finished by Thanksgiving but that's not the case.
Travelers are asked to plan in advance and give yourself extra time to make your flight.
WXYZ reports that if you are heading to DTW from Toledo ,use 275 and get off at Eureka road. This route will avoid construction and take you to the Mcnamara terminal.
If you are flying out of the North Terminal, there is construction in the rental car parking lot.
For those picking up passengers, the airport police are asking you to use the cell phone lots while you wait. They will be cracking down on anyone who is double parked.
AAA estimates Thanksgiving is the busiest travel time of the year.
