Hollywood, CA (CNN/WTVG) - This week, three stars who were first introduced to the public in 1958 finally got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Alvin, Simon, and Theodore - otherwise known as Alvin and the Chipmunks - celebrated the honor Thursday.
According to CNN, their first novelty record was called "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late!)", and it went on sell 4.5 million copies in just seven weeks.
Since then, the trio has gone on to make multiple albums that went platinum, as well as prime-time specials, a TV series and four movies.
The Chipmunks' star was dedicated in the "Television" category, and is now the 2,657th star on the iconic sidewalk.
