Anna the comfort dog helps Rogers students grieve
Toledo Public Schools sent added counselors and a comfort dog name Anna to help students cope with the sudden loss of Romear Cavitt. The 16-year-old student was struck and killed while crossing the street on the way to school.
Anna is no stranger to comforting students who are hurting. She was deployed to Parkland Florida after the school shooting massacre that left 17 people dead.
Anna is a member of the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry. LCC has over 130 comfort dogs serving in more than 20 states. These dogs are called in when people are in crisis and they need loving care. Anna is deployed on comfort missions 5-6 times a week. Some are local but others may take her as far as Las Vegas. She is a volunteer service thanks to donors. If you would like to donate click the link at the top right hand corner of your screen.
