Toledo (13abc) Exercise caution in wooded areas and fields Saturday, September 30. That is because it is the opening day of bowhunting season for deer in the state of Ohio. It runs through February 4, 2018.

the Ohio Department of Natural Resources reports most regulations are the same as last year, though bag limits have been increased in some counties to allow for better deer herd management. The statewide bag is six deer. Only one deer may be antlered. A hunter cannot exceed a county bag limit. A license to hunt is required.

Deer hunting hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes past sunset for all deer seasons. All deer harvested must be checked in at official deer stations and tagged.
