TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Drivers in South Toledo have been inconvenienced by the closure of the Detroit and Byrne intersection for the past few weeks.
Each and every week, we hit the streets to find out what you'd like to know about Toledo traffic, and this week, a 13abc viewer would like to know when the intersection will re-open.
According to an earlier press release obtained by 13abc, it's supposed to open on June 20. We reached out to the city for a quick update, and despite the rainy weather, the project is still on track. The intersection should be open to traffic by the end of next week.
If you remember right, crews are building a roundabout: the first of its kind in South Toledo. It's all a part of a larger project to reconstruct Detroit Avenue between the Anthony Wayne Trail and Copland. The entire project is expected to take five months to complete.
