Autopsy results released in deadly officer-involved shooting

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Autopsy results from Friday’s deadly officer-involved shooting in Toledo have been released.

According to the Lucas County Coroner’s office, Lamar Richardson was shot three times. His official cause of death has been listed as a gunshot wound to the head.

Doctor Maneesha Pandey tells 13abc that Richardson was shot three times. One bullet struck the front of his head near the left cheek. Another bullet his one of his forearms. Another bullet hit Richardson’s foot.

Richardson was shot on Hudson Street near Lagrange Friday evening after running from police who were trying to make contact after he was suspected of being in a stolen car earlier that day.

Toledo police investigators say Richardson had a gun and brandished it in their direction and that’s when officers opened fire.

The coroner’s office has ruled the death a homicide. Toxicology results are pending.
