Baby recovering after overdose
A North Toledo toddler is hospitalized in critical condition after police say he tested positive for opioids.
According to the police report, the incident happened on Tuesday at his home in the 700-block of Spring Street.
Police say 19-month old Ivory'onne's mother told them that the toddler had just returned from a park down the street with his 11-year old sibling.
The 11-year old told the mother the toddler had put a bag of something in his mouth. Then the mother told police that the baby laid down for a nap, and she couldn't wake him up 45 minutes later. That's when she took the baby to St. V's where doctors report using three doses of narcan to stabilize the baby. Narcan blocks the effects of the opioids and reverses the overdose.
Police continue to investigate the case and no charges have been filed in this case.
