Big money could not defeat Lake Erie Bill of Rights

TOLEDO - (WTVG) - Bill Hormann's story aired at 11pm on 13abc.

Seven weeks ago, Toledo voters approved something called the Lake Erie Bill of Rights (LEBOR).

It gives citizens the right to sue polluters on behalf of Lake Erie.
But now we are learning who opposed that idea and spent big money against it.

A huge petroleum company spent more than $302,000 fighting LEBOR and lost.

So it begs the question, should we be so worried about big-time PAC money spent on political campaigns?
