Blissfield Schools back to normal after suspicious person raised concern

Blissfield Schools were on "secure mode" for a time on Thursday morning.

According to the Blissfield Police Chief a suspect crashed his motorcycle Wednesday night and then fled the scene. Police say he then apparently began knocking on doors in the area asking for help

Police were still searching for him Thursday morning when he was seen near the vicinity of the schools. Officials say witnesses reported that "something didn't look right" so they put the school on a soft lock down as a precaution.

After the Blissfield Police were alerted of the suspicious person around the school, they determined it was the motorcyclist from Wednesday night.

Later Thursday morning the suspect was at another home in the Blissfield area asking for help. Police responded and found him hiding behind a barn. He is now at a hospital for treatment.

No one was hurt at the schools and Blissfield has returned to normal operations.
